Cherry Chocolate Mylkshake Smoothie
1 cup frozen pitted cherries 1 large handful of organic spinach (or leafy greens of your choice) 1 1/2 cups almond coconut milk
1Tbsp. organic coconut oil 1 Tbsp. cacao nibs 1 Tbsp. organic unsweetened coconut flakes 1 heaping tsp. Maca powder 1 tsp of Spirulina or your favourite green food powder (or a scoop of chocolate protein powder of your choice)
Put all ingredients EXCEPT protein powder (if using) into blender and blend until smooth.
Add in protein powder and blend on low setting until combined (this is added in after in order to maintain the quality of the protein - high speed blending tends to destroy the protein structure).
Pour in a large Mason jar or cup of your choice and enjoy!
This smoothie is great to have first thing in the morning, after aerobic exercise lasting longer than 45 minutes or as a snack between meals. It will keep will keep you naturally energized for hours!
